Upoznajte Pirovac
Pirovac se smjestio u zaljevu između Vodica prema jugu i Biogradu na moru prema sjeveru.
Karakteristično za more je to da je temperatura mora za 4 stupnja viša nego inače u Jadranskom moru.
Plaže su šljunčane s kristalno čistim morem, a plaža Lolić je nositelj plave zastave.
Najbliži otočić se zove Sustipanac, Otok ljubavi ili Mojster. Kao dijete sam išla s dedom, sestričnom i bratićem čamcem do otoka i svaki puta sam se jako veselila. Plemić Draganić je 1510. izgradio franjevački samostan, a danas se mogu vidjeti ostaci zidina na zapadnoj strani.
Otočić nije naseljen. Prije franjevačkog samostana u ranom srednjem vijeku postojao je benediktinski samostan.
Na samom kraju Pirovačke uvale smjestilo se brdo Makirina, napravljeno kao šetnica za pješake i stazom za bicikliste. Na vrhu brda je prekrasan pogled na Pirovac i okolna mjesta, Betinu i Murter. Uz obalu Makirine možete pronaći ljekovito blato.
U samom srcu mjesta, najljepši dio su Vrata sela prije ulaska u crkvu gospe Karmelske i stari dio Pirovca. Tu se smjestio i dvorac Draganić Vranić.
Get to know Pirovac Pirovac is located in a bay between Vodice to the south and Biograd na Moru to the north.
A characteristic of the sea is that the sea temperature is 4 degrees higher than usual in the Adriatic Sea.
The beaches are pebbly with crystal clear water, and Lolić beach is the holder of the Blue Flag.
The nearest islet is called Sustipanac, the Island of Love or Mojster. As a child, I went to the island by boat with my grandfather, cousin and nephew, and I was very happy every time.
In 1510, the nobleman Draganić built a Franciscan monastery, and today you can see the remains of the walls on the western side.
The islet is not inhabited. Before the Franciscan monastery, there was a Benedictine monastery in the early Middle Ages.
At the very end of Pirovac Bay is the Makirina hill, made as a pedestrian promenade and a cycling path.
At the top of the hill there is a beautiful view of Pirovac and the surrounding towns, Betina and Murter.

Along the shore of Makirina you can find healing mud.
In the very heart of the town, the most beautiful part is the Village Gate before entering the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the old part of Pirovac.
This is also where the Draganić Vranić castle is located.

Grb Pirovca je u plavom štitu. Zlatni sv. Juraj s mačem i štitom stoji u srebrnom portalu. Sv. Juraj zaštitnik je mjesta a portal je onakav kakav još uvijek stoji na gradskim zidinama. Blagdan svetog Jurja i Dan Općine Pirovac, poznat kao Jurjevo, slavi se svake godine 23. travnja. To je središnji događaj u mjestu koji označava početak turističke sezone i slavi bogatu povijest i tradiciju.

Povijest Pirovca neraskidivo je vezana uz plemićku obitelj Draganić, koja je u 15. stoljeću postala vlasnikom ovog posjeda. Upravo je grof Petar Draganić zaslužan za izgradnju obrambenih zidina i čuvenih Vrata sela (1505.), čime je zaštitio stanovnike i osigurao razvoj mjesta. Zanimljivo je da se obitelj kasnije povezala s čuvenim izumiteljem Faustom Vrančićem, nakon čega nose prezime Draganić-Vrančić. Njihova ostavština nije samo u kamenu i zidinama, već i u samom identitetu Pirovca – od arhitekture do zaštitnika sv. Jurja kojeg su duboko štovali.

It was built by Count Petar Draganić at a time when strong walls were the only salvation from Ottoman invasions. Draganić Family: Builders of Pirovac
The history of Pirovac is inextricably linked to the noble Draganić family, who became the owners of this estate in the 15th century. Count Petar Draganić is responsible for the construction of the defensive walls and the famous Village Gate (1505), which protected the inhabitants and ensured the development of the town. Interestingly, the family later became associated with the famous inventor Faust Vrančić, after whom they bear the surname Draganić-Vrančić. Their legacy is not only in the stone and walls, but also in the very identity of Pirovac – from the architecture to the patron saint St. George, whom they deeply revered.

Nakon što prođete kroz Vrata sela, pogled prema pirovačkoj uvali neizbježno bježi prema otočiću Sustipanu.
Ovaj maleni otok krije bogatu prošlost:
- Ljetnikovac i samostan: Nekada se ovdje nalazio ljetnikovac obitelji Draganić, ali i ostaci starog franjevačkog samostana.
- Mistična grobnica: Na otoku se i danas nalazi obiteljska grobnica obitelji Draganić-Vrančić, što otočiću daje poseban, pomalo tajanstven ugođaj.
- Otok ljubavi: Danas je Sustipan omiljeno odredište kupača i nautičara. Zbog svoje ljepote, mirisa borova i kristalnog mora, lokalno stanovništvo i turisti nazivaju ga "Otokom ljubavi".

History in the middle of the sea
After passing through the Village Gate, your gaze towards the Pirovac bay inevitably wanders towards the islet of Sustipan.
This tiny island hides a rich past:
Summer house and monastery: Once upon a time, there was a summer house of the Draganić family, as well as the remains of an old Franciscan monastery.
Mystical tomb: The family tomb of the Draganić-Vrančić family is still located on the island today, which gives the islet a special, somewhat mysterious atmosphere.
Island of love: Today, Sustipan is a favorite destination for swimmers and sailors. Due to its beauty, the scent of pine trees and crystal clear sea, locals and tourists call it the "Island of Love".
Only a few minutes by boat separate you from this historical gem that completes the story of old Pirovac.
